I guess there are a few things that explain my passions about certain things in life. Sometimes I’ve managed to take part in something for no reason and it has paid off. They’re totally random.

- Tony Hawk’s Underground Finnish Championship:
The best of the best in Finland were there, and much respect to them. Somehow I took the prize and walked away from the event with a pretty big trophy and some nice cash. I’m guessing Cyrus and Pibe still play TH-games, unless skate won their hearts.

- 1st place in Animecon’s AMV contest audience’s pick, action category:
I have a passion for music videos, and I’ve experimented with a couple of anime videos. One of my friends liked them and suggested I take part in the event (I had no idea there was one). Apparently the audience liked it a lot. One thing I’m not very happy about is that I seriously doubt that any of the other contestants had rights to their music. I did.
You have no idea what kind of efforts it takes to get the rights to use one song in a single public event. I had a song called Senzafine from a brilliant Italian metal band Lacuna Coil from their old Half-Life EP. So I had to go back and forth with e-mails about the matter with a representative of Centurymedia, the record company that they were singed to. I had to send a video to the representative so they could decide whether or not I’d be allowed to use the song, this was then showed to other executives and based on their judgment the band would have the final say.
Luckily my video pleased them. Finally I had to send 3 copies of the contract and the video (3 CDs) to the executives (I think) and of course save my part of the contract (which I still have, of course). The representative was very nice, so it was actually a pleasure doing”business” with them. A nice memory indeed.
